  • Students must meet the following criteria to participate in a consortium contract:

    • Must be accepted by Northwood University into a baccalaureate degree program, while attending a consortium institution.
    • Coursework at the consortium institution must apply to a degree requirement at Northwood University.
    • Enroll at least 6 credits at Northwood University for the period of enrollment that you are requesting financial aid at Northwood and 3 credits or more at consortium institution. Combined enrollment may not exceed full-time status – please contact your PCM with any questions.
    • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), submit any other requested documents and meet all other Federal and/or State eligibility requirements for financial aid.
    • Complete this contract for each semester in which you will be concurrently-enrolled at Northwood University and a consortium institution and applying for financial aid at Northwood University as the home institution.
    • Must cancel all future financial aid at the consortium institution. Students may only receive financial aid at one institution at one time.

Completing the consortium contract will allow you to include credit hours, tuition, and fee costs from a consortium institution toward your enrollment status. The consortium contract will only be processed if your combined enrollment and cost of attendance affects your financial aid eligibility at Northwood University.

In addition to the above requirements, you must also:

    • Complete the consortium contract prior to each semester in which you will be concurrently enrolled
    • Attach a copy (screenshot) of your consortium institution class schedule
      • Screenshot must show your name, name of institution, semester, course section dates, all enrolled courses, credit hours for those courses, enrolled status
      • Waitlisted courses are not applicable
    • Contact your consortium institution to determine payment arrangements for consortium students

Your financial aid will be determined by Northwood University. Financial aid will be disbursed to your account at Northwood University. Once aid is disbursed, if your account is paid in full, you will be issued a refund (if one is due). Northwood University does not pay aid directly to consortium institutions.

It will be your responsibility to pay the consortium institution for the courses you are enrolled during this combined enrollment period.
